Liberty Community:

Welcome back to the 2017-18 school year.  I would like to thank you for the trust and opportunity to work with your child.  I am excited to begin my second year as principal, and sixth year as a part of the Liberty Community.

I hope that you and your families have taken time to relax, recharge, and are as excited as I am about the start of the school year.  Liberty's staff of education professionals eagerly awaits the arrival of all students every day.  As we begin the school year, we want to assure you that your student is our focus and that their success is our success.

This year marks a year of change for all of us.  Whether this is your first time at a middle school or Liberty feels like "old hat," this year will be filled with change and opportunity.  This year's changes are highlighted by the adjustment in the start times for all levels.  School now begins at 8:50AM-3:45PM daily.  Late busses will be available Monday-Thursday and will depart Liberty at approximately 4:45PM.  With this time change I am sure there will be a number of challenges for all families.  However, I believe this is good for our students and it will greatly benefit them academically.  Once we all settle into our new routines all will be well.

Our goal continues to be focused on your child's success.  As we welcome your students, learning, growth, and opportunity will continue to be the focus for all members of the Liberty staff.  Our teachers will continue their collaborative work of developing and engaging all students in innovative and challenging lessons that meet the needs of a students.

I look forward to seeing each of you throughout the school year.  It takes a partnership to ensure success and I am looking forward to partnering with you.

Sincerely,

Kevin Doherty
